Masterplan

Five Themes are Vistas and views, connectivity, civic spaces, green link and neighbourliness

In recent years there has been a clear focus by Wealden District Council on the need to regenerate the centre of Hailsham and deliver a revitalised town centre in line with the ‘Vision for Hailsham’, as identified in the Hailsham Neighbourhood Plan, and offer Hailsham a bright future as the key growth town in East Sussex.

The Hailsham Aspires project team is developing a masterplan for the town centre that both enhances and revitalises Hailsham.

The project team have collated information from local people, businesses, stakeholders, and Council officers alongside stakeholder workshops and held public consultations in 2019 and 2021.

The Design team are currently reviewing all of the feedback given to date and using it to create a preferred masterplan for the town.

Along with the creation of a vibrant new town centre for Hailsham the masterplan will include a considerable number of community benefits for local people, the town itself and the district more widely.

A map to show the land ownership within the masterplan area is also available to view.
