Hailsham Aspires was created by Wealden District Council to bring forward plans that enhance and regenerate Hailsham Town Centre to support local communities now and into the future.
The vision for the Hailsham Aspires project is to revitalise Hailsham, delivering a vibrant market town with a diverse town centre offer. This is likely to include a civic centre hub, leisure facilities and public social spaces providing better connections across the town centre and surrounding areas. These features will attract and hold the attention of residents and visitors, whilst promoting local job creation and long-term sustainability.
Maps to show the proposed area being considered for regeneration, and the land ownership amongst the different organisations who are working together, are available on the masterplan page.
In May 2020, the Hailsham Aspires Team were also joined by a design team led by project managers Mott MacDonald and including Brighton-based architects Conran and Partners, environmental engineers Hilson Moran, civil and structural engineers AKT II, planning consultants Lambert Smith Hampton, and community engagement specialists Snapdragon at PLMR.
